Organic Chain

Controlled organic chain without fertilizer

Thailand: The SFGA cooperative in Buriram and Korat operates according to a completely closed and ecological agricultural system. During the dry season, cows graze in the dried-up lotus ponds. Their ferture is then used as the only natural food source for the next cultivation cycle.

During the rainy season, the ponds fill up with water again. During this period, storks play an important role in the ecosystem by naturally controlling unwanted animals, such as snails and mice. This maintains balance in the ponds without the use of chemical pesticides.

Shortly after the rainy season, fish species are often released for local consumption in the deeper pond areas. At the same time, these fish also contribute to a healthy biological balance by supporting water quality and maintaining the natural cycle of nutrients.

Thanks to this natural SFGA cycle, the lotus products are free of fertilizer, chemical pesticides and other synthetic plant protection products.
